Scrappy Hour
Join your fellow Owls for a weekly tradition of enjoying a refreshing soda ice cream float (or simply have a drink and some ice cream) and mingling with Scrappy. You can take home a souvenir cup to remember the experience. So, come and join us to make some unforgettable memories with your KSU community! Scrappy Hour will happen every Thursday from 1:30-2:30 PM. The 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month will be on the Kennesaw Campus. What happens to your recyclable materials after they go in the bin? Join the Office of Sustainability on an educational tour of Smurfit Westrock’s Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Marietta, where KSU sends their recyclable materials (i.e., mixed paper, cardboard, paperboard, plastics #1 (PET/PETE), plastics #2 (HDPE), metal/steel/tin cans, & aluminum cans)! Come check out the different sorting technologies as recyclable materials are prepared for the market! Registration is required and capped at ten (10) attendees. This tour will be held indoors. Closed-toed shoes are required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) would be provided. Carpooling is available. Join the Department of Student Volunteerism & Service for the 11th annual KSU Day of Service! Serve our community alongside 600+ students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. The event will begin with a kick-off on the Kennesaw campus. All event participants will receive an event t-shirt and breakfast. Transportation will be provided to select service sites. Listed event start and end times are inclusive of kick off event and travel times to/from service sites. All participants will serve for three hours, which will be documented in GivePulse. Registration Information: Each adult registrant must register for this event on GivePulse. Registration is required to participate in the event. https://kennesaw.givepulse.com/event/546866-2025-ksu-day-of-service Registrants are only permitted to sign up for ONE (1) service project. Please avoid signing up for multiple projects. Some service projects have provided transportation to and from the site. If you require transportation, please ensure you sign up for a site that provides it. Minor Registration: All participants must be at least 11 years of age to participate in the Day of Service. If you wish to register a minor, an adult must register and add them on their behalf. Additionally, please email dayofservice@kennesaw.edu to receive a copy of the 2025 Days of Service event waiver. This form must be completed and brought at check-in. Registration Deadline: To provide us with an approximate head count for food, t-shirts, and volunteers, we would greatly appreciate all registrations by March 29th by 9:45am. There are no opportunities for walk up registration. Transportation: Transportation is provided for select sites and is listed in the title description of each service project. Participants needing transportation are expected to sign up for a project where it is provided. For students on the Marietta campus, a Big Owl Bus Charter will be available to transport you to the Kennesaw campus. Loading of these buses will take place from 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM at the bus stop outside the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center. Kick-off Event: Participants will arrive on campus in the morning to attend the kick-off event at 9AM. Participants will receive breakfast and an event t-shirt before departing to their respective service sites. Breakfast will be provided by Whataburger. Communications: Full details about the Day of Service will be sent to all registered participants on March 28th. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email dayofservice@kennesaw.edu. SVS is committed to providing accessible programming for all students. Please indicate any accommodations you need to participate in this event when registering.
Your Dean of Students is your advocate and resource to help maximize your success at KSU and beyond. The formal roles of the Office of the Dean of Students include oversight for all student conduct, problem resolution, behavioral and crisis response, administrative emergency withdrawals, policy review and compliance, and student advocacy and support. In addition to the formal functions of this office, the Dean of Students collaborates across all areas and constituents within the greater university community to enhance the student experience.

As the Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA), Dr. Eric Arneson provides leadership and direction for much of the co-curricular student experience at KSU. He serves as the chief student advocate and expert on campus and offers direct counsel to President Kathy Schwaig and other key leaders in championing student success. Dr. Arneson will foster student engagement and success by oversight of divisional departments, among other areas, all dedicated to creating engaging, inclusive, and supportive communities for our students.
